Vivaldi – The Four Seasons in Vienna
Experience Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons in one of Vienna’s most breathtaking concert venues – the magnificent Karlskirche (St. Charles Church). This atmospheric classical concert in Vienna combines baroque masterpieces with the unique acoustics and historic setting of the church.
Performed by Ensemble 1756 on original period instruments, the program brings the music of the 18th century vividly to life. Under the musical direction of baroque violinist Dimitris Karakantas, the ensemble presents Vivaldi’s famous violin concertos The Four Seasons, alongside Geminiani’s Concerto Grosso after Corelli, Op. 5 No. 12 “La Folia”.
Founded in 2006 during the celebrations of Mozart’s 250th birthday, Orchestra & Ensemble 1756 has established regular concert series in Salzburg and Vienna. Their historically informed performance style, combined with the extraordinary acoustics of the Karlskirche, creates an authentic and unforgettable concert experience.
